上一期我们讲到了明清时期的茶,这一时期,散茶代替了原来的团饼茶,茶文化也开始走向世俗,深入民间。

本期开始前,先回答上一期的问题——teaset这个英文是什么意思?Teaset其实是一个复合词,是tea 和set两个单词连在一起组成的。那么tea表示茶,set在英语中有成套,成组的意思,那么连在一起就表示一整套的茶具。

本期内容——六大茶类(一)

我国产茶历史悠久,产茶区域辽阔,品种丰富多样。根据加工方式的不同,可以分为六大茶类——绿茶、红茶、乌龙茶、黄茶、白茶、黑茶及再加工茶。本期就跟着小编一起学习用英语表达绿茶、红茶以及乌龙茶吧。

Green tea

Green tea is the first tea made in China. It is the major type of tea produced and consumed in China. It is not fermented like black tea. 

Usually it produces a greenish infusion with a fresh taste. Typical green teas are Westlake Longjing tea, Bi Luo Chun, Huangshan Maofeng, etc.

Black tea

Black tea or ‘hong cha’ as we call it in Chinese, is the most popular tea in the world. It is invented by Chinese. 

Lapsang Souchong, said to be the first black tea, is made in Wuyi Mountain, Fujian province. It is smoked and gives a special smoky flavor. Unlike green tea, black tea is oxidized. Tea leaves get oxidized and give a mellow taste and strong flavor.

Oolong tea is semi-oxidized, a kind of tea between green tea and black tea. It features a flora aroma and a smooth taste. 

Oolong is the major tea variety in Fujian, Guangdong, and Taiwan, such as Tieguanyin, Dahongpao, Fenghuang Danchong, etc.
